Submission to Petroleum Safety Framework Consultation

Posted by info on 20 Sep 2011 | Tagged as: Environment, Fracking

The Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) is the competent authority when it comes to granting permission for oil and gas exploration/extraction. The are in the process of creating a statutory safety framework, and have invited the public to comment on this. I believe this is important in relation to Hydraulic Fracturing of share gas.

The details of the consultation are available from the CER website.

I’ve prepared a brief submission on the sections re. Permissioning, Compliance, and Incident Reporting. You can download my submission from here.

Feel free to use my submission to formulate your own submission. Submissions should be sent to emurtagh@cer.ie. The closing date for submissions is September 27th.
