Climate Change Challenge

A gentleman called Neil Foster who lives in the constituency has contacted me re. the recent hacking of email files from the Climate Research Unit at East Anglia University.
Neil claims the following in relation to the information in these emails:
“…the IPCC is now an obsolete organisation following the revelations, sadly not reported in this country for some reason, that they have been manipulating data in a fraudulent attempt to prove the case for AGW (AGW means Anthropogenic Global Warming, or in simple terms, Global Warming caused by Humans as opposed to Natural Global Warming - Garreth).
This is basically a case of criminal fraud and governments around the world who do not press for a full investigation of this would, in my opinion, be complicit in the crime.
I have sent you a great deal of info on this matter (Note: Neil has never contacted me before - Garreth) which you have chosen, understandably, to ignore due to your whole ideology being based on these lies.
It’s about time you stood up and admitted you have been conned. Do the right thing and bring some honour back into the political system instead of burying your heads in the sand and clinging to discredited IPCC reports as evidence of AGW. To do so shows a level of delusion or complete denial of the increasing evidence that this is the biggest hoax to be perpetrated on humanity.”
In response to this, I will issue the following challenge to Neil, or indeed anyone who happens to come across this post.
If Neil, or anyone, can send me any information or data from the emails that were stolen from the East Anglia CRU that disproves any specific scientific finding referred to in the most recent IPCC report (which establishes a probability of 90% that Global Warming is caused by human activity 4th IPCC Report 2007) , I will donate €500 to a charity of Neil’s choice.
And just not to waste anyone’s time:
The reference to a ‘trick’ in Phil Jones 10 year old email re. the use paleo-data to reconstruct past temperatures doesn’t count. See below for why.

The IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) does not prepare scientific data in relation to Climate Change. It is a UN body that reviews available scientific data in order to provide meaningful information to policy makers. From the IPCC website:
The IPCC “…reviews and assesses the most recent scientific, technical and socio-economic information produced worldwide relevant to the understanding of climate change. It does not conduct any research nor does it monitor climate related data or parameters.”

Still no reply from Neil…although he has been busy ringing Green Party TDs to complain about me…
Neil has done some sort of Google search and sent me the results but still hasn’t addressed the very simple and specific challenge I set him, which was:

Dear Mr. McDaid,
As a one time supporter of the Green Party in the constituency, although not actively, I am dismayed at the evidence now coming out from England regarding the lies and doctoring of evidence to support what I came to realise a while ago, was a political agenda rather than anything remotely altruistic. I was further convinced of this after seeing the way the Green Party developed and indeed was absolutely sickened when they joined forces with Fianna Fail.
I realised then that I had been cruelly misled by the Party and ended any association I had with it whilst at the same time I started to look into issues surrounding ‘global warming’ only to find that there were indeed many prominent scientists who did NOT agree with the IPCC reports and indeed some of these very same scientists had left the organisation because they were disgusted with the lack of integrity and scientific principles being adopted to fit with, what I came to acknowledge, was a political ideology.
After listening to the Pat Kenny show on RTE radio 1 this morning. I am further convinced, where as before I was simply sceptical, that the whole belief that humans are to blame for global warming is a myth and indeed a cruel hoax.
How would you answer this Mr. McDaid? I feel I have been lied to by people I put my trust in for a time in my life for which I am utterly embarrassed to have been associated with.
Having listened again to this mornings show on RTE, I am astonished that this individual, who is a ‘journalist’ for the Irish Times, Mr. John Gibbons, cannot seem to give any reasonable answer to any question put to him but simply abuses and insults a learned geologist for the simple matter of disagreeing with him.
As you must know, if one resorts to insults and what can only be called ‘bullyboy tactics’ to try to deflect questions in a feeble attempt to discredit the scientist then I’m afarid the argument is lost from the start.
I think it is time that all politicians started to look at the facts for themselves instead of relying on evidence collated from people, who it now appears, have been utterly dishonest.
I would expect a statement, particularly from the Green Party on this issue in the public forum where it belongs. I would also expect that the people at the top of your party should be calling for a serious investigation of these people and indeed making enquiries in this country to see if similar methods have been used here.
